Hot Winter Nights was a romantic heist full of Christmas cheer.

To start off, I didn't enjoy this book was much as I wanted to and I solely blame it on exam season. Unfortunately, I still need to read my worries away during exam time and typically those books don't cheer me up as much as they normally do. Jill Shalvis is an excellent writer and the thought behind this book is amazing!

This book is in the Heartbreaker Bay series. I have dabbled in Jill's other novels, but not Heartbreaker Bay yet (it's on my list, don't you worry). I saw this book at a local used book store (in perfect condition) and figured I might as well pick it up. I loved the last books I read by Jill so this would be a natural choice for me.

I found this book to be way more suspenseful than the average romance novel. It was super intriguing though. I really enjoyed following along with a story that I wasn't quite sure how it would end (the suspense part, not the romance. The romance was super predictable, as romance normally is). If you are going to read this as a standalone, go right on ahead! I found this book easy to jump into and I didn't need to know about the previous characters. I'm sure I would have liked this book more and understood it more if I had read the previous books, but don't you worry about it! You'll be just fine.

Molly and Lucas are cute and hilarious at times. They may or may not have slept together right before the book starts, and that causes a fair bit of chaos between the two of them. The duo also work together, which makes things more interesting. When a Santa Clause may be stealing money from his elves, they go on a little mission to figure out what the mystery is behind the missing money.

The plot was definitely Hallmark-esque and my gosh, I loved it. It was awesome! I did think the book was a little longer than it needed to be, but it was still fun. To top it all off, this book is definitely an R rated, sexy book with hella chemistry. Totally worth it if you love sexy romance and want a dash of Christmas cheer. It's more sexy than Christmas-y though (not Hallmark in that sense...).

I loved that this book was a HEA romance. That's the type of reader I am so I totally adored the little epilogue that made sure I knew my new character friends had a great time in the book.

For my final statement, I will say that the titles of each chapter were hilarious and full of Christmas puns. I think that added a pinch of awesomeness to this story.

Found in the library holiday display. I love a good romance, and this is a good time of year for a little drama. This was not the book for it though. A few days later I can't remember much about it, so, meh. ( )

Love this book by - it's the perfect combination of romance comedy & suspense! So many interesting characters in this book, from the old lady elves to bad Santa to Mollie and Joe's Dad. Molly and Lucas are both strong characters. They've got sizzling chemistry and I love the witty banter between the two of them. ( )

Molly works at the same investigative agency as Lucas and her boss and brother have made it clear that no one is to touch her. She wants to be an investigator and they want to keep her sidelined to keep her safe.

Lucas used to be an agent and is now a tough as nails investigator that is recovering from being shot. He's put on Molly sitting duty when she refuses to drop the 'Bad Santa' case.

Molly was severely injured and traumatized when she was kidnapped as a teenager and her escape caused her to break her back in two places. She has a lot of scars both internally and externally and is determined to not get involved in any relationship. Lucas has fantasized about Molly for a long time and he knows he has no chance but it doesn't stop him from wishing. As he helps her with this investigation he realizes that everyone has underestimated her and admires her skills. One little peeve was his emphasis on having back up but when things are clearly moving into dangerous territory neither of them call for back up until after they are injured.

This is a charming, feel good romance that has a 'Beverly Hills 90210' feeling to it, where everyone is in everyone else's business, but only because they care.

From the first paragraph where the hero Lucas wakes up in bed without knowing how a he had gotten there with a girl he didn't recognize you know this is going to be another great Jill Shalvis rollercoaster of a ride.
Lucas and Molly work together and he's her brother's partner. That's reason enough to keep his hands to himself. Plus they are both emotionally damaged. But the sparks between them are hot enough to set off a forest fire. These two are drawn together like iron to a magnet and the reader just goes along for the amazing ride.
This is another great addition to the Heartbreaker Bay collection and I just want to go there and throw a coin in that fountain. While this is part of a series, it can stand alone without having to have read the other books. If you are looking for a fun read this is definitely the one to try.
