Definitely a bit of a different pace for the series, a little more slow in the first half and kinda familiar in some ways. Also, I was hoping for more answers about GrayCis and their secrets. BUT even with those aspects considered, I feel like we get to really see some gems of significant growth in SecUnit here! Just their overall tone and mannerisms seem...MORE. Their personality is coming through stronger in each installment, and I honestly just love their snark and desire to chill and not worry about things. There was also some solid and fun action in the second half that felt very cinematic. So all in all an enjoyable read for me! Despite having run away from ProtectionAux and Dr. Mensah, our SecUnit continues to feel loyal, and as the lawsuit against GrayCris starts to fall apart SecUnit decides to go to another planet where GrayCris has done some shady terraforming and try to gather more evidence against them. No longer using the self-appellation Murderbot after finding out what really happened on the extra-galactic moon in the last book, SecUnit uses the alias of Security Consultant Rin to shadow an investigatory team headed for the partially terraformed, and now abandoned, planet of interest. She tries to dupe a "pet" robot named Miki that considers itself the team leader's friend in order to tag along in the shadows. But in exchange for not telling others about it, Miki makes Rin promise to help protect the humans in the team. Rin agrees and gets hip deep into the ensuing action. I love the voice of "sci-fi's favorite antisocial." Murderbot/Rin is so sarcastic and funny, yet vulnerable at the same time. First with ART and now with Miki, you see MB struggle with what it means for a machine to be in relationships with humans. From pain-in-the-ass clients to colleagues to friends, are these types of relationships possible? For MB, even being friends with a nonhuman seems a stretch. Although I liked the interactions with ART in the last book, I liked this book more overall. The action was faster paced, and I could almost seem the wheels in MB's head turn as she watched the interactions between Miki and Abene. Great series! Martha Wells continues her well written "Murderbot Series". In Rogue Protocol we are thrown directly into the action as our protagonist finds himself once again protecting a group of interstellar adventures. Lots of tense combat amidst more humanity than murderbot would care for but nonetheless embraces. We even see a tad bit of homesickness for a place that he may or not want to return to. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

HTML: The third thrilling book in the increasingly popular Murderbot Diaries, which began with All Systems Red. SciFi's favorite antisocial A.I. is back on a mission. The case against the too-big-to-fail GrayCris Corporation is floundering, and more importantly, authorities are beginning to ask more questions about where Dr. Mensah's SecUnit is. And Murderbot would rather those questions went away. For good. Martha Wells' Rogue Protocol is the third in the Murderbot Diaries series, starring a human-like android who keeps getting sucked back into adventure after adventure, though it just wants to be left alone, away from humanity and small talk. Read Rogue Protocol and find out why Hugo Award winner Ann Leckie wrote "I love Murderbot!" .Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
