Angel Calloway's memories of her family left her thinking that her mother deserted her in Iraq, but the reality is much more complicated than Angel realizes, especially when she finds herself on a protective detail at the home of her real mother, Chaya Mackay, and her sister, Bliss Mackay. Bliss was nearly kidnapped and now must be protected until the Mackays can figure out who wants to hurt Bliss and why. Angel must put aside her hatred of Chaya and the Mackay family in order to keep the sister, that she has come to care about, safe. In the meantime, Angel realizes that her friend and partner, Duke is actually a member of the Mackay family and has known her secret for months. Now she must decide if she can trust Duke enough to give him her heart.

Nauti Angel continues the story of the Mackay family. Most of the mystery surrounding Bliss happens off page, making it frustrating to follow that part of the plot. Also, very little of the book is about the romance between Duke and Angel, as the story is more of a family drama. The character of Duke is as underdeveloped as is his romance with Angel, however, they still manage to have many steamy scenes throughout the book. Overall, Nauti Angel doesn't really succeed as either a mystery, romance, or family narrative. ( )

Angel is a mercenary, who's been keeping a secret. She's Chaya's daughter (thought dead). When Amge; finds out her sister is in danger she returns to town and her secrets get unraveled. Lots of anger and angst as mother and daughter struggle with each other all while trying to keep Bliss safe. Duke has loved Angel for years but doesn't act on it until now. Hot and steamy. I definitely need to reread Nauti Dreams, I don't remember Chaya being that angry and hard.
