I like how this book shows children there is always an alternate route to achieve your goal. ( ) Summary: Monk and Glennie's lazy game of catch by the firehouse is interrupted by Scho, who could play if only he'd brought his glove. The two boys keep him from playing and show the affect that bullying can have on a child. 'I can make you'. After having to sit alone in a tree and watch two boys play catch, the main character of the story decides to play mind games with these two boys,as he keeps telling them they are doing what he is making them do. Personal reaction: I really like the lesson in this story. It allows students to connect to other real life situations and learns to never give up. I also thought that it told a great story, one that i can relate to. Extension: Discussion: Have the kids come up with other scenarios and solutions. Activity: Have the students make a list of things they shouldn't do or say to someone trying to play with them. I really like the lesson in this story. I believe this book would be a great way to start the year off. I could read it to the class and we could come up with other scenarios and solutions. It allows students to connect to other real life situations and learns to never give up. Although I like the content of the book, I thought the illustrator could have done a better job with the pictures to make them more elaborate and to help the readers follow along. All of the pictures seem to look the same with grass and a baseball. There is no change or quality. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
