One almost needs to have every edition (as there have been different editors) to have the full effect of these collections. This one has quite a bit of modern poetry without neglecting "sumer is icumen in" and so on. ( )

This is the selection by Christopher Ricks. It should not be combined with either of the two works by Arthur Quiller Couch, as the contents differ significantly.
