Once again, my kids enjoyed the book more than I did - although I did like this one a bit more than Times Square. Loved the trick the animals played on the humans - even if there's no way it would have really fooled them for any length of time. ( )

It all starts when John the robin comes to time square to tell us the news. Once we get there, we see some human kids and one of them called Ellen took Harry as a pet and he liked it. A sequel to Cricket in Time's Square, good primarily as a followup to the story. I found the story more interesting after I had read the first; I don't think it stands alone all that well. Uses the probably cliche theme of animals' habitats being threatened by human development.But Selden's whimsical characters are fun and the book would be interesting for those children who like this type of animal story.
