Into the Night continue the stories of a team of special FBI profilers. Each book focuses on a different crime and a different couple so they are stand alones. However, if you like one book, you will enjoy them all! Imagine Criminal Minds and add in 2 of the agents in a steamy romance and you have the Killer instincts series! All the agents have some tie to a serial killer-previous boyfriend, family member, victim. In this case Macey is the only surviving victim of 'The Doctor'. When it looks like he has resurfaced, Macey and her partner Bowen rush to NC to look into it. However, they quickly realize there is a LOT more going on. The story takes place mostly in the Smokey Mountains and Gatlinburg, TN. They mention a specific trail and mountain and I just had to look it up. I have a need to see things on a map. So, this gives you an idea of the trail they begin to investigate (specifically the Rainbow Falls trail up to Mount Le Conte). It doesn't really matter, but if you are a visual person like me, you will enjoy being able to see a map of the place they are talking about! Back to the story! Macey and Bowen are on the hunt for a copycat killer who has killed 2 serial killers the FBI was hunting (wow-that is a lot of killers in one sentence!). The action really does read like a TV show, and if you enjoy these types of tropes, you will really gobble up the story. The romance between Macey and Bowen starts as a 'just this once' kind of thing, then it becomes a secret romance because they don't want to let anyone in the FBI know. So, basically, its just sex at night, business as usual by day. That always works out, right? ;) What I have enjoyed about all the books in the series is they aren't predictable. You keep wondering who the villain is, then once its revealed, you wonder how he/she will be caught, then you wonder if its really over! Eden is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors because her books always keep me on my toes!
Books by Katie Reus, Kaylea Cross, Alexandra Ivy...then you will probably like Into the Night! Into the Night See full review on The Book Disciple Phew--another edge-of-your-seat read in this series! Into the Night is a romantic suspense with many twists and turns...and then a few more twists thrown in, just for good measure. I lost track of how many side characters gave me creepy vibes (but yay, I was right about two of those creepy-vibe-givers, at least partially!) and whoa, so. Many. Murders. (and abductions. Those numbers were right up there too.) Seriously, this book was pretty relentless. I'm not sure when Macey and Bowen even had time to develop a relationship--though somehow they managed. ;) Overall I really enjoyed reading this. Though the ending did have a bit of a going-off-the-rails feel to it, ultimately it was en entertaining read that kept me firmly sitting on the very edge of my seat throughout. Fingers crossed that there is more to come! Rating: 4 stars / B+ I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. It has been a while since I have read a book from this author. I really enjoyed this book. It hit the spot in just what I was looking for with my reading; especially in one of my favorite genres. Macey and Bowen had both a great working and personal relationship. In fact, I liked the personal relationship a lot. As I have said before, I am not always a fan of personal relationships in these types of books unless done right as they feel like distractions from the main story. Serial killers are my vibe and so I want them to be my main focal point. Yet, Macey and Bowen's relationship was part of the story. The love scenes, while short were sexy. Finally, to my favorite part...the serial killer. He was smart, prominent in the story, and I liked getting into his mind. Everything he did had a purpose. The best part is the fact that the ending was not a let down. Nothing worse then a weak ending. I plan to go back and read the prior novels in this series as well as get back to reading more books from this author. This book had me reading into the night and day. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Two FBI agents are caught in a merciless vigilante's crosshairs in New York Times bestselling author Cynthia Eden's electric Killer Instinct series. Sheltered in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains is the suspect who's summoned FBI agent Macey Nights fears to the surface. Every day that the Profiler, a vigilante serial killer, escapes justice is another day she's reminded of what it is to be a ruthless predator's prey. Capturing him is a craving deeper than anything she's felt in a long time. But Agent Bowen Murphy, equal parts sexy and volatile, seems hell-bent on changing that. Working together needing, living and breathing each other they're entwined to distraction. Bowens used to operating on impulse: act, don't feel. Now Macey and the controlled terror behind her beautiful eyes have him rethinking everything, including his rule to never get close to a colleague. He's willing to fight for a future with Macey, but the consequences of love could be deadly. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

The survivor of a vicious attack, FBI agent Macey Night has dedicated her life to protecting the innocent from serial killers. Her teammate, agent Bowen Murphy, is just as determined to hunt down the monsters. Their latest case takes them into the Smokey Mountains in search of a vigilante with a disturbing interest in both Macey and Bowen's pasts.
Series note:This is the 3rd and finalKiller Instincts book. While characters from the previous installments appear, it is possible to read this as a standalone.
Macey and Bowenare both likable characters with compelling backstories. Their partners-in-love romance is excellent, and their intense chemistry is only enhanced by the "forbidden" feel of their relationship.
The suspense plot revolving around a serial killer targeting other killers is intriguing with numerous twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. While everything is eventually explained, some aspects are quite convoluted.
Overall, this is an entertaining and satisfying end to the series. ( )
