I can't help but fall love with "Suddenly Engaged" the third novel in Julia London's new contemporary romance series "A Lake Haven." London again, was at her best with a great story line, with that funny and charming small town dynamic. I just love how this little girl, Ruby somehow played an important role in bringing her mother, Kyra and Dex together with HEA. Now, I need to find the first two books in this series to read, I simply just can't have enough of it, I now am not only a fan of JL's historical romance novels, she's now got me hooked on her CR novels as well. Let me start off and say this is my favorite book in the Lake Haven series! Kyra and Dax just took me through all the emotions. I laughed so hard with Dax and Ruby's interactions, and I cried so much when Ruby got sick and I got over heated when Dax and Kyra finally came together. PS I was a Ruby when I was a kid always finding ways to get out and explorer. I so enjoyed this whole series by Julia London, Lake Haven seems like a place I would love to rent a cabin for the season. :) Suddenly Engaged is the third book in the delightful Lake Haven series. Kyra and her 6 year old daughter Ruby arrive in East Beach looking for a place to call home, a place where Kyra can afford the rent and work on finding a career instead of a job. Dax feeling devastated from his marriage breakup just wants to be left alone to build furniture and nurse his heartbreak wounds. Ruby crawls under the fence and into his life shaking things up. Laughter and tears and a really good mushy ending ensue. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Single mother Kyra Kokinos spends her days waiting tables, her nights working on her real estate license, and every spare moment with her precocious six-year-old daughter, Ruby-- especially when Ruby won't stop pestering their grumpy next-door neighbor. At first glance, Dax Bishop seems like the kind of gruff, solitary guy who'd be unlikely to offer a cup of sugar, let alone a marriage proposal. But that's exactly what happens when Ruby needs life-saving surgery. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

I love that Dax calls them Coconuts because he didn't understand that Ruby said her last name wa Kokoinos. What starts out as a grumpy response turns into a term of endearment. The character of Ruby is one of the most fun children I have read in a long time. Her mother Kyra is a strong single mom who has no choice but to be independent, yet even a strong woman needs help sometimes.
After this, I can only hope there are many more Lake Haven books to come. ( )
