Mind bogglingly awesome!

If you're a fan of well written suspense with fiery, strong females then this is the book for you. Bringing together many characters from her 'Baltimore' and 'Cincinnati ' series we meet yet another female dealing with her own monsters in the closet. If you haven't read any of Ms. Rose's other books, you learn many of these characters have dealt with their share of monsters too. A young girl comes home early to find her mum dead on the floor having been beaten to death by her errant father. Hiding behind a chair so she's not seen by him, she's found hours later by her aunt and grandmother. Traumatized by this event young Jazzie and her sister are sent to equine therapy classes in hopes it might help with the trauma. Jazzie doesn't talk since discovering her mum, and hovers nervously around younger sis Janie.... It's at this horse therapy we meet Taylor. A new intern on the farm who is actually there for her own secret agenda. Lied to her entire life about her birth father, she's desperate to learn what kind of a person he truly is. After years of being terrorized and running, can she put aside all she'd ever been told and warned of to see who he really is? Enjoy seeing how this all unfolds... You'll fall in love with this wonderful tribe they all call family. Working together to help save these two little girls from their very real monster. In doing so, can they make the monsters of their pasts vanish? You may even want to get a few more of the books in this series to read the stories of all these other amazing characters. Enjoy! ( )

So we see "who dun" it from the very beginning and get to watch as all the good guys learn about the crimes committed and their main suspect.
I really didn't think I could like this kind of story, knowing the bad buy, but it's like watching a movie. You want to yell...."Look out, he's hiding in the bushes", "Are you kidding me? You're buying this b.s.?" "NO.....NO....don't let him get the girls!"
Gage is the bad guy. He's killed his estranged wife, disappeared and now is back now that her murder has been "solved and closed". But there might be a hitch in his plan....is it possible there was a witness? What do they know? Who has she talked to?

Taylor is a young woman working as an intern on the Healing Hearts therapy farm but she has her own secret. She's out to meet the man who is her biological father. The man her deceased mother convinced her she should fear...You see him, RUN! But mama's deathbed confession and letters from a strange P.O. box have her confused, curious, and terrified.

Yes, there are a lot more players in this story but these are the two we need to concentrate on. Their stories are where we cross paths with one another. Everyone else is along for the ride. And what a ride it is. Tears, jeers and Hell yea's run all through this book.

I look forward to more stories like this. ( )

I've read many of Karen Roses's books and for the most part enjoyed them. This one was difficult to really get into after the introduction which is what made me pick this book up to start with. One problem with the story is that after the intro the entire story line takes place over a two day period making it rather congested. Also the suspense was not as strong as the title indicated. Overall..it was by no means a bad book. Karen Rose fans will undoubtedly love it. I just didn't find that it lived up to it's opening hype. ( )

Karen Rose is the Queen of suspense! Monster in the Closet will not disappoint, it will have you on the edge of your seat. Aside from a great suspenseful action packed story, the lesson that family is not just blood relations, family is made up of those people in your life who have your back no matter the sacrifice. ( )

I received this ARC from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

I really like the action/suspense part of Karen Rose's books; that's the main reason I keep coming back to them. However, the romantic element in them is starting to bore me. I understand that these events happen in a very short time frame, and people can feel ATTRACTED to another quickly, but being at the point of considering commitment after only a day or two is not realistic. Perhaps introduce characters in previous books and develop them before rushing into relationships would make the books more readable and true-to-life.
