Attualmente non vi sono conversazioni su questo libro. 1st read: July 2021 2nd read: June 2022 I loved this book even more the second time around. It's so funny and sweet. ------------------------------------- This is a very funny romance about a convenient marriage between a seamstress and a duke. The hero was seriously injured during battle a few years before and was left with many scars. The heroine was abandoned by her family and had to support herself from a young age. I liked both main characters, as well as the supporting characters. All of the characters were pretty ridiculous at times, but were very entertaining. The chemistry between the main characters was great and their banter was fun. Each of the main characters have issues that they are dealing with, and they worked though them in a fairly reasonable way. I listened to this audio book and it was very well done. The narrator was great with the voices, but the male voices sometimes sounded silly. ... "You will shine like a jewel! A ruby! An extraordinarily big ruby. You will be the world's largest ruby on record, I suppose, one with... arms." Emma tucked his words away to treasure later. And treasure them she would. "You're beautiful." No matter what happened, she would always have that. And the part about the jewel with arms, she supposed. This was my second time reading this book, and I must say, I adored it even more! It's simply perfect. The humor, the wit, and all the fluffy goodness—it's all there. Every single character exudes charm! The banter between Ash and Emma was not only charming but also incredibly witty. I found myself laughing out loud multiple times. 5/5 for any classic/cheesy Historical Romance enthusiast! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

She has a few rules of her own: - They will have dinner together every evening. - With conversation. - And unlimited teasing. - Last, and most importantly... Wow.
Emotional, funny, well plotted and with deep characterization, this book was a joy to read. I found myself laughing, crying, and even swooning while reading it. Even when things got a little too cute, and the quirks just quirked a little too quirkly, I still enjoyed myself.
I really liked how put together and certain Emma was. Even when she had doubts and fears, she had an innate sense of self, an agency, that shone through. And Ash was actually damaged, in a very real way. Not broody for the sake of broodiness, but physically and emotionally damaged. The internal conflict packed an emotional punch that got me right in the feels. ( )
