Got bored of it and had too much else to read.. Young adult set during the revolutionary war. Becca was the maid for Peggy Shippen Arnold, who married the traitor Benedict Arnold. I didn't know what his activities really were - he defected to the British side during the war, likely with encouragement from his wife. He also was in the war for personal gain and had access to confidential American information that he attempted to give to the British. Nicely done historical novel dealing with Benedict Arnold and his young wife Peggy Shippen, told from the point of view of Peggy's maidservant (fictional), Becca. The only flaw in this book, from my perspective, was the highly condensed, hurried conclusion handled as a colloquy with a cow. It served as an easy way to tidy up loose ends but was oddly out of keeping with the overall one of the book. Ilove this book.Out of all the books I have ever read this book is my favorite. It is aboout a fourteen year old named Becca who isn't beautiful, rich, or even popular. In order to complete her ''missing pieces'' She works as a servant for a spolied rich girl named Peggy Shippen. Peggy is really mean to her in the beginning but becomes to enjoy having Becca around. Peggy sets her dreams on Benedict Arnold and turns him into a traitor and join forces with the Crown against the Revolutionary Americans. If you like history then this is the perfect book for you. Beware of wanting to kill Benedict Arnold at one point in the book. Thanks for reading my review and I hope you read this book and like it.
