Very enjoyable film about a slightly different perspective on the space race. A very interesting film focusing on three of the female computers before what we now call computers took over, these were the people who performed all the complex mathematics that allowed people to fly into space before the IBM machines took it over. These are three women who displayed intelligence and grit in the face of adversity and who use their smarts to improve, not just their own lives, but others around them. Yes it occasionally merged characters or attitudes to serve the film but I'm sure much of the events happened and maybe not to the particular central characters. Those three characters were wonderful, full of bravery and sass and I really rooted for them. My husband was a little reluctant to watch but once it got going he really enjoyed himself and said that he will be advocating it as a very good watch to others. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes.
