In Park Beat, London uses rhyming words in the book to describe each of the seasons. For each season, activities are described that can be done and how the weather and the animals are during this time. At the end of each season Mama is always callin'. At the end of the description, when the name of the season is given it is a different color from the other words to make sure that the main purpose of the book is conveyed. This is a wonderful book to teach children about the seasons. I really did love this book, the words flowed so well. While reading the book I almost found myself wanting to sing the words and this could be a helpful strategy to use for children to remember the seasons and their characteristics. ( ) I love how Jonathan London uses such a creative/lively language in all of his books. In Park Beat, he uses rhyming words to describe the different seasons and all the activities you can do during those seasons. London uses words ending with "in" throughout the story, for example: grinnin, spinnin, crackin, heapin, kissin, glowing. Woodleigh Marx Hubbard does a great job with vibrant illustrations and having that along with London's groovy beat, children will love this book! London uses rhyming words to describe the seasons, and the different activities that take place in each one of them. I loved how he used words ending with the slang ending "in' (steamin, grinnin, missin, kissin...etc...). After reading this book, I would have my students draw and color on what certain activities they do for each different season. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
