Hank roams the streets of Twitchell for awhile, trying to evade recurring character Jimmy Joe the dogcatcher. Then he goes to the cattle market, looking for a home. If you think he ran into the Lopers there, guess again.
Hank has several adventures before he finds his home at the Lopers' ranch. Thank goodness for soft hearts and pity or a fun series would have died before it was born.
As a bonus, Mr. Erickson reads aloud the first two Hank stories, 'Confessions of a Cowdog' and Confessions of a Cowdog: Part 2'. I hadn't known that Hank, Drover, and Pete were based on real animals. Cool. I liked part 2 better than part 1 because of the battle between Hank and Pete.
The one song this book has, 'Leaving Home,' is not a comedy number, but the singing is nice. (
