Title: Deathstalker Rebellion Series: Deathstalker Author: Simon Green Rating: 3.5 of 5 Stars Genre: SFF Pages: 510 Synopsis: The first crack in the Empire has appeared. Now it is up to Owen Deathstalker and Company to turn that crack into a full blown crumbling. And the aliens are wicked bad ass. Can, and Should, Owen and Co. start a rebellion now? But how can they not? My Thoughts: Owen Deathstalker was a very small part of this book. He was the pinky in the handful of characters. Everyone else seemed to play a bigger part than him. I enjoyed this, but the never ending succession of seat of your pants adventures actually got tiring, as I followed Character 1 through a harrowing adventure and then before I could catch my breath, I was swept up into Character 2's adventure, times 5. It just felt too long. Whatever. " This was an engaging military space opera which gave insights into many characters points of view. Though the series is about Owen Deathstalker, he is more in the background in this book. More prominent characters include Captain Jack Silence who will defend the Empire even if it's not perfect and the rebel Jack Random who is one of the few who was altered by an alien maze. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Owen Deathstalker-outlawed, with a price on his head and the blood of a mighty warrior lineage in his veins-had no choice but to embrace a dangerous destiny. With nothing to lose, only he had the courage to take up arms against Queen Lionstone XIV. Now as he gathers his unlikely allies-the legendary washed-up hero Jack Random, the beautiful pirate Hazel d'Arc, the original Deathstalker long since presumed dead, and the alien Hadenmen whose purposes no human can discern-the eyes of the downtrodden are upon him while the freedom of a galaxy hangs in the balance . . . As always, Green has a way of giving characters god like powers, while still leaving them flawed, and making an interesting world. Seeing how the Madness Maze continues to influence the actions of Owen, Hazel, Jack, & Ruby while they face overcoming odds is something else.
I'm glad I decided to finally give this series a try. My only complaint is that he focuses too much on the characters and not enough on his world building. To me, Greens best work is when he's building a world, and using the character stories to flesh it out. See the Nightside series as a great example. ( )
