I am thoroughly enjoying the characters in these books. I look forward to the next in the series. James Patterson doesn't disappoint. A nice quick and easy read! ( )

A very light read about NYPD Detectives Luc Moncrief and Katherine Burke who are investigating the mysterious deaths of beautiful, rich women. Additionally, there is a mystery associated with a Triple Crown horse race entrant, and its owners. ( )

I enjoy reading these BookShots by James Patterson and this little series of books are pretty thrilling and great. The is the third book in a series about French NYPD Detective Luc Moncrief and his partner K Burke. In this instance, they are investigating murders of rich and beautiful women where they just simply dropped dead.

The great thing about this BookShot series is that it always has a sense of adventure to it that really brings together the whole book and the characters. I hope there is more to come with Luc Moncrief and his NYPD career.

As with previous BookShots, the plot twists remind the reader than nothing is quite as it seems. The characters are well-drawn, and the story keeps the reader’s interest. However, Luc’s constant, annoying referral to his partner as “K. Burke” rather than “Katherine” may be off-putting for many readers. ( )
