Sophie DiRossi has a chance to create a new life for her and her daughter, but not without jumping over major hurdles. For starters, they were left homeless due to a fire. Also, she has kept the secret of her daughter’s paternity. Sophie‘s hands are full. She has a now job at an enchanting hotel that needs more than a bit of work and she must regain her relationship with Mia, who has completely stopped talking. What’s more is that the only place where Sophie can go is her hometown, Harmony Harbor, and there are even further problems, including the fact that just about everyone there has something to hide. Thank the recently deceased town matriarch, Colleen Gallagher, for that.

Liam Gallagher is a firefighter in Harmony Harbor, and he is really perplexed as to how he is going to manage being around Sophie and the adorable Mia. For years, Liam has had very strong feelings for Sophie, and now he has to be around her. As kids, Liam was a few years older from Sophie, so he never got to tell her how he felt. Even now, Sophia still seems off-limits, and Liam isn’t sure why. What he doesn’t know is that Sophie is in love with him.

What a touching story of second chances! However, there are conflicts that must be resolved. As the story progresses, we meet a lot of wonderful characters that I definitely look forward to meeting again in future stories in this series. There are a lot more Gallagher’s to meet! This book is filled with love, drama, humor and even a bit of magic. Mia was my absolute favorite character. Her transformation was a true delight. This is a heartwarming story that has me quite interested in the remaining books of the series.

Mistletoe Cottage is the first book in the series, followed by Christmas with an Angel, Starlight Bridge, Primrose Lane, Sugarplum Way, Driftwood Cove and Sandpiper Shore, all of which I was able to download from my library. The latest book is The Corner of Holly and Ivy, which I am pleased to have gotten from the publisher. ( )

This one from Debbie Mason has been holiday-tacular. I love when she gives us a small town with secrets, feud, meddling family, and mini-fires throughout. There are unexpected things that just gives you an element of ‘wait-a-minute’. There are two families, Irish and Italian. There was a small town, a small child, and many other family members.

Liam, Sophie and Mia have bonding moments that make you just take pause and reminisce or pine for. The shared time was beautiful and touching. The moment with just Liam and Sophie were sweet and beautiful also. The time they spent together reconnecting for the future and avoiding the past. There was just something that kept you going further.

This was a sweet, emotionally sensual, holiday romance that you will come back to over the years. Debbie always creates an air of comfort, safety, serenity. Small town appeals raise a few levels with each new read. The enchantment of the holidays makes Harmony Harbor that much more inviting. ( )

I enjoyed reading this book a lot. It was a very enjoyable romance with a little paranormal ghost. I loved Mia, Sophie and Liam. I also love the people of Harmony Harbor. This was so much fun. I love it. I look forward to many more of her books. I received this book from Grand Central Publishing for a fair and honest opinion. ( )

If ever a book needed to come with a warning, this one should have. The warning? “Lies beget lies.” And this book and this town was filled with them. Everyone seems to have a big secret and/or lie following them around so I can see this as a fairly long running series. And that may be a good thing because this was one of the most enjoyable books I have read in a very long time. It is going to be interesting just exactly what everyone is hiding.

Mistletoe Cottage might make you frustrated and even make you dislike Sophie a bit for not coming clean (but then it would be a different book), it may frustrate you that her daughter is, eventually, using her PTST as a sort of weapon. (I can understand, it but I didn’t have to like it). You may become frustrated with Liam for not getting the help he needs (and for the author to not have delved into Liam’s issue a tad more).

You may need a scorecard to keep everyone straight -there are a lot of character’s and I mean a lot.

I loved the biggest bomb that I never once saw coming. Total shock!

I loved that this book dealt with the issues like it was ‘real life’ and not a fictional novel.
