Genre: Fantasy (fiction) Why it fits this genre: -talking animals -animals living in a town I would use this book to: 1. present students to rhyme 2. teach students about plot Summary: The main character in the book, the town's baker, decides to cook a bread to try to feel the warmth of the sun in the taste. When the bread is done baking the scent bring all of the creatures of the town to the bakery. Eventually, the sun also comes out because of the wonderful smell. After the sun sets, the baker stays up all night baking more sun bread so the sun will rise again. The next day, the sun rises and all of the creatures are filled with joy. Media: color pencil/crayon After reading Sun Bread, I believe it is a wonderful book for children because of colorful pictures, nice plot and rich imagination. This picture book uses sun bread as a plot tells children the sun wakes up from its sleep not only because of sun bread, but also because of love and sharing that the baker bakes sun bread with love and then she and other animals share it with each other. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

I would use this book in a read aloud to introduce the importance of the sun and its impacts on the earth. Toward the end of the book when the sun comes out, the author tells some effects of the sun and this book would be a good introduction to a unit on the impact of the sun on the earth. ( )
