When a burglary goes wrong on the opening night of his new restaurant, Jack Keller is left a widower and suffering from several bullet wounds. In emotional and physical turmoil he becomes a self-pitying recluse, until Kid Demeter, a young man Jack once regarded as a son and who is now a formidable physiotherapist, bullies him into better health. Then Kid is found dead, but Jack cannot accept the view that his death was either accidental or suicide. Knowing he owes Kid for getting his own life back on track, Jack starts to investigate Kid's personal life and discovers he was a serial womaniser. It is only March but I can tell you this is one of my top ten reads for 2004. This story sucks you in from the first word and keeps you in its grips until the last one. Jack Keller over comes a fairly big tragedy in his youth to achieve tremendous personal and financial success to only then start losing it bit by bit. Any more would tell too much. Just find a copy and read it. ( )

Everyone Jack Keller cares about ends up falling to their death from a great height.
This cant be a coincidence, Jack slowly unravels the case and stops the murderer. This book keeps you guessing bit far fetched though. ( )

I don't read many books in this genre, therefore I have little to compare it to. It is also the first Russell Andrews' book I have read.

I enjoyed it. It kept me guessing all the way through, and I found the prose easy to read. Kept me hooked all the way through. ( )
