While reading it, I kept finding myself singing instead of reading. Over the twelve days of kindergarten, the teacher gave to them, twelve eggs for hatching, eleven seeds for planting, ten coins for counting, nine blocks for building, eight beads for stringing, seven stacks for sorting, six fish for feeding, five gold stars, four puzzle shapes, three pencils, two picture book, and the whole alphabet from A-Z. I enjoyed the illustrations throughout this book. The children were very off task and doing things they were not supposed to be doing, I actually found some of it quite amusing. All of the children are out of their desk, getting into some crazy situations. On the page of the eighth day of kindergarten, three children and the teacher are falling on the ground; one student is taking the classroom pet out of their cage, and many kids are digging in their noses. On the page of the tenth day, a girl let a bunch of bees in the classroom, someone is milking a cow and squirting it on another student, and the teacher is running a muck. By the end of the book, the teacher is smiling and I could tell that no matter what happens during the day, at the end of the day teaching is a very rewarding job. It can be stressful and the classroom can get very crazy, but the kids make it all worth it. ( ) The book is a sing along, counting book that introduces the many activities that Kindergartens will encounter at the beginning of school. The book repeats and rhymes and counts to twelve. This book is illustrated so well. The background of the children is exactly what a Kindergarten classroom most probably looks like. One of the pages has a little boy picking his nose, one little girl being very shy, one feeding the fish, one playing with a puzzle and two children running around. The illustration could tell the story without the text. I really enjoyed this book and would read this during the first week of school. Deborah Lee Rose mimics the song The Twelve Days of Christmas throughout this book. It is cute and catchy! Instead of including the typical Christmas items Rose includes things such as the alphabet, blocks, beads, and pencils. I really love how well the illustrations correlate with the words. On each page you can see the list of items Rose had previously described. The illustrations are also silly and would be enjoyable and funny for young children. I think this book would be perfect to read at the beginning of the year in a kindergarten classroom! The Twelve Days of Kindergarten is a take on the christmas song Twelve Days of Christmas. It goes through each day and counts from 1 to 12 of things like 5 gold stars and 1 whole alphabet. This was a cute book but the illustrations were really the best part. They told the story without even reading the text. I adored The Twelve Days of Kindergarten by Deborah Lee Rose. It was entertaining and easy to read. The story can be sang in the tune of The Twelve Days of Christmas which I thought was adorable. In The Twelve Days of Kindergarten children count up to twelve and it is repetitive. This book would be entertained and enjoy counting, especially if the story is sang to them instead of just being told. I love holidays and Christmas music and those times are the happiest so I would make the atmosphere festive and happy for students. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
