I love how this book depicts a relationship between a grandfather and his grandchild. It is a very encouraging book that would make a person want to build a relationship with someone close to them. It would be a good book to read during a lesson on families. ( )

Bo spent the entire summer with his grandpa. They told stories together by the water, and even caught a few fish. However, Bo was a little upset that he wouldn't see his grandpa this Christmas since they usually spend it with each other only every other year. Bo and grandpa decided that they could have Christmas right there at grandpa's house. They put on Christmas carols, and grandpa even put on a Santa hat. That was the best summer Christmas ever, and of course, their first. On the very last night of summer, Bo couldn't sleep. He found grandpa out under the tree and the two finally saw a shooting star together. They both made a wish, and I have a pretty good idea what they wished for, to be able to spend Christmas together. ( )

This is a really sweet childrens book with beautiful illustrations that give a homey old-fashioned feel to the story. Bo and his Grandfather spend precious time together - they fish, and hike, and sit by the lake. Great read. ( )
