The 17th installment to the If You Were Me And Lived In… series. This time we learn about living in Brazil. It is fun learning new words in Portuguese and viewing famous landmarks included with the cute illustrations.

In this edition, I enjoyed guessing which Portuguese words for cheese, milk and other terms. I don’t remember the other books in this series having you guess. It is easy to find out what was right by looking in the glossary in the back of the book.

The only downfall with these books is they are too short...for adults which is not who they are written for.

This book and the others in this series are wonderful for inquisitive children who want to learn about the world they live in. ( )

With all the excitement of the 2016 Olympics, your children may be asking about the country of Brazil. Roman's book, like her others in this cultural series, will answer all their questions and more.

Not just focusing on the large cities in Brazil, but the rainforest and other famous tour locations, Roman shares the numerous things to love about Brazil. From the language to the activities, children will get a sense of what an average child would experience if they lived in Brazil.

I had no idea that Brazil was the world's largest producer of coffee in the world. I'll have to pay more attention to where my coffee comes from.

The illustrations are bold and drawn to show accurate descriptions of the land and people. I loved how Wierenga portrayed a family taking a selfie at the Christ the Redeemer statue, a famous tourist location in Brazil. Wierenga uses a unique way of placing her illustrations in front of actual photos of the country.

Like the others in this series, children and parents will find much to learn about the country. This book would make another great asset to a school, home and community library. ( )

If You Were Me and Lived In...Brazil by Carole P. Roman is another awesome and informative book for kids (and adults) on Brazil. The book tells kids what their name might be, what they might eat, what their customs are, what they would wear, play, and other things important to kids. Plus, it also teaches them a few words from Brazil! The illustrations help the information but other books I think had better illustrations. I think schools should adopt her books help teach kids, it is fun learning this way. My grand kids would love this. I was given this book for a honest review. ( )

Readers will learn that Brazil is the largest country in South America and is the largest Portuguese speaking country in the world. They will learn about the Amazon, foods, sports and holidays. The book is full of wonderful information that allows readers to be transported to Brazil.
I received a copy to facilitate my review. The opinions expressed here are my own. ( )
