Summary:
This is an alphabet book about animals. Each page is a different letter of the alphabet with an animal that starts with that letter. There is an actual picture of the animal so that the children can see what the animal looks like. Each page also has facts about the animal on the page as well.
Personal Reaction:
I love realistic alphabet books for younger children. It is a great way for children to learn the alphabet and great information at the same time. I had an animal alphabet book to read to my kids when they were young. Yack was one of my daughters first words because of the book.
Classroom Extension:
1. I would assign a letter for each child and have them draw the animal that starts with their letter.
2. After reading this book we would come up with other animals that start with the different letters in the alphabet and look them up on the smart board. ( )
