I purchased this book almost five years ago, and I think this was the time in my life to finally read it. I see where this seems to be the OG for all the FIRE movement, and I loved the clear information presented here. I’m glad that I’ve been in research junkie mode about all of this money stuff as I understood everything the author shared; granted he broke it all down incredibly well, and it’s very doable. ( )

Why do people like this book? The advice is generally good, but you can read it other places instead of in this condescending book that advises you to have tremendous luck and privilege. Did you know that if you don't buy so much avocado toast, you'll have money to invest? Disgusting. Aimed at rich white men with engineering jobs and the income to match. ( )
