The worst thing I can say about it is that there's not nearly enough of it in this collection, which isn't that much of a negative. Eagerly looking forward to more of the series, as well as more works from the creators. ( ) There's an awful lot going on here and it's not always easy to follow... which may be a metaphor for something. Certainly ambitious and meaty and even after a full six issues collected here, we are only just beginning to get the measure of things. I will almost certainly pick up the second collection. Intellectually engaging, but emotionally hollow. I find the narrative riveting, but I certainly wouldn't want to know any of these characters personally. These are people who have been wronged in life and have wronged others in return. Not so much shades of gray here as shades of black. It's well written and well drawn but unrelentingly depressing. Wow, was this depressing. Too close to the reality, too cynical, too full of hopelessness. Story was good, art was good and very detailed (especially the background scenes) - lots of info revealed in the background vital to the plot. Love that! I'll definitely be continuing this series, at least to see if the crimes are solved. But I'll definitely need something to lift my spirits afterward! nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
Baghdad, 2003. In an effort to establish some semblance of order in the war-torn city, Florida cop-turned-military-consultant Chris Henry has been assigned to train cadets in law enforcement. But good intentions are not immune to the chaos found in the post-9/11 Middle East. When one of Henry's trainees is found dead, he's forced to ally himself with Nassir, the last policeman in Baghdad, to unravel a bloody mystery. While Henry and Nassir search for answers, forces in the shadows are pulling strings that these men don't even know they're tied to. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
