Overall, I didn’t really care for this book. The one thing that I did like about it is that there is actually a lot of science information within the illustrations that can teach you something. For example, one illustration displays the student’s notes on microbiology, giving a definition. There is also a poster in the classroom with a biography on Antoni Van Leeuwenhoek. The main reason that I don’t like this book is because there is too much text all over the pages. Within one page there are speech bubbles from each character, posters with science information in the illustrations, thought bubbles, and the regular story text. The big idea of this book is to tell an interesting story while throwing in some science information in a subtle way. ( )

Summary by Gedell Ellington the magic school bus and the science fair expedition is about Ms. Frizzle taking her on a trip to a museum. She then makes use of the cardboard bus on display to teach the children about many scientist and making it seem as though they are in the present time with science. The children are amazed at all the things they learn every part of the book was designed to teach the children about science. My personal reaction: I really thought the story was gone to be about a school bus. It was interesting to me. Classroom Extension: This book could be used to teach 1st and 2nd graders about science and making it fun for them.

This Magic School Bus book is all about famous scientists. The kids in Ms. Frizzle's class think they are getting out of a magic school bus adventure by walking to a museum, but there is a cardboard bus in the museum being used as a place to get your picture taken. Ms. Frizzle uses her magic and drives the cardboard bus through time and the students meet all kinds of famous scientists like Isaac Newton and Louis Pasteur. This is a terrific book because when kids read it, they think they are reading a story, but they are really learning all about science. ( )
