I grew up reading the Berenstain bears, I really enjoy that they are family oriented. They talk about events that happen in a child's life. I also enjoy these books because they are cute. I also think that if you have a child who is scared to go to the doctors to read this book to calm their nerves

Sister Bear and Brother Bear have to go to the doctor for a checkup, and they are both very scared! They are afraid the examination will hurt and are uneasy all the way to doctor’s office. The doctor gives them both a well checkup and then gives them a shot. The bears are terrified that the shot will be painful but soon realize it is not that bad.
I think this is such a cute book for children to read. Most kids do not like going to the doctor, and this book shows them that the doctor is only there to help. I think this would ease the nerves of students going to the doctor, and it is definitely something I will consider having in my classroom library! ( )

This is a funny book as it retells how the bears feel about going to the doctor. It turns out that they learned a lot about the doctor. ( )

The Berenstain Bears Go to the Doctor is a trade book about giving the Berenstain cubs their regular checkup and overcoming their fear about the doctors office. The illustrations in The Berenstain Bears Go to the Doctor is very neatly done. The colors are fill from top to bottom and can be seen clearly. Teachers can use this book in the classroom to teach or talk about going to the doctor's office. They could talk about their experiences and say it's not such a bad thing. I like this book because it actually helps me get over my fear of going to the doctors. I dread going to the doctors to get shots, but in the end they are not that bad. ( )
