What Light/Jay Asher This was so very... ordinary... for an Asher book. I've come to expect great things from him and I could not put down his previous two books.

But it's a nice Christmas read, I guess. ( )

Short review for a short book in which not a lot happens. Good Bland Girl meets a so called "Bad" Bland Boy. Good Bland Girl sees that he has layers and proceeds to peel these back until his heart of gold is revealed. Everyone realises he really was misunderstood and Good Bland Girl and newly minted Good Bland Boy chastely kiss. The end.

Light Christmassy story with wholesome characters whose names I literally cannot remember and I finished the book 30 minutes ago....oooooo wait! Caleb! One was named Caleb! I have surprised myself by remembering *reads previous sentence* Caleb's name. ( )

Decided to read this young adult story on a whim to get into the holiday spirit. A sixteen-year-old girl travels with her family each year from Oregon to California to sell stock from their Christmas tree farm. She interacts with one of her best girlfriends and develops a romantic interest in a local youth dealing with a past issue. Reminded me of the Hallmark romance movies I watch with my parents when I visit them. I found it sweet and a bit sappy, but I am not the intended audience. It is aimed at teens, especially those that enjoy stories about romantic, friendship, or family relationships. ( )

Cute and set on a Christmas tree farm. Sierra’s parents uproot the family every year at Christmas tree season so they can all work on the farm selling trees. I thought one thing that was especially cool was how this painted a different picture of how farming kids may have to miss school/make sacrifices than other books I’ve read depict.

Sierra meets Caleb when he shows up at the Christmas tree tent to purchase trees and there are definite sparks, but there are also rumors circulating about Caleb’s past among Sierra’s seasonal friends. She can see firsthand the goodness Caleb does. But when the rumors are bad is it worth the risk? Furthermore, should one mistake define a person forever, or are second chances worth taking? This was a sweet, heart-warming story.

Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. ( )
