I am so glad I didn’t give up on this series after the sort of underwhelming book one, even if it did take more than a year for me to get back to it. Shatter was a LOT better than its prequel, and not just because it was Snow’s story and his character had fascinated me almost from the get-go. Both the romance and the main plot were much more developed here. However, some things were still a bit unbelievable, and I didn’t like the way the authors got rid of a much-loved — but inconvenient — character. I get it, something had to change considering Rowe’s book is next, but still… That accident was far too well-timed. As to the romance, it was still a little too insta-lovey for me, but it wasn’t that bad because technically, they ‘knew’ each other from work. The chemistry between Snow and Jude was off the charts, and the sex scenes were scorching-hot. There was also a twist there that really surprised me, but which I loved — I hadn’t expected that bedroom dynamic in the slightest! Aside from all that, these two were pretty damn cute. I’m so happy for Snow. Jude (and his awesome mom) might just be the thing to heal this broken man. I had some issues with the writing — the same ones as in book one. It was rather good in places, but then suddenly, and awkward phrase or two would sneak in and break the flow. I don’t understand some authors’ need to replace their MCs' names (and not only them) with synonyms; I get that you want to avoid repetitions, but really, that's a bit immature. Just saying. I’m not sure how I feel about Rowe’s upcoming book. Let’s see if it’s as good as this one. Shatter is what I did through this, right along with Snow and Rowe and the rest of the boys. Damn did this one hit me in the gut. This was rough and raw and emotional, but it was so beautifully written. I was a little worried about Snow after the last book, but Jude was such a damn perfect match for him. To recognize Snow's struggle and need to let go of control every now and then was brilliant. He was so good for Snow, and they are so perfect together. I am so in love with this series! I just want to hug them all and keep them nice and safe. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
