A tale for young adults in which a young man, Tom Roland, experiences vivid dreams which seem to have effects on his waking existence. His whole town is embroiled in his dream-quest. Increasingly the waking world and the dream intersect. The book balances the dream world and the waking world, each hovering on the edge of each other. It is well-written and tense. It reminded me of Alan Garner's work, where ancient pagan entities threaten to intrude into a world similar to but not exactly like ours. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
A gripping audio book of myth, legend, mystery and suspense from one of Australia's most celebrated writers. Awake and asleep, Tom has increasingly different lives. Awake he is a climber, scaling the cliffs by Tower Rock, and asleep, he finds himself in a vivid dream-world where he is the carrier, responsible for a strange and beautiful child, and forever in search of the elusive Sleeper. Tom can no longer dismiss his night journeys as "just dreams" once his sleeping and waking lives start to merge. The real-life versions of characters in Tome(tm)s dream-world start to fall into inexplicable, deathlike comas, and Tom realises that his two lives are heading towards an inevitable collision. Tom doesn't know what will happen next, but he is certain of one thing: it's all terrifyingly out of his control. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
