It took me a little but to get into, maybe because I don't know her work that well. But man, there was some heavy parent stuff in there that really got to me (the stuff about watching a parents body fail, not some of the other stuff). ( ) Amy Schumer is an incredible female celebrity that has gotten lots of heat and attention over the years. It's no surprise that she was tapped to write her own book and man... She hit it out of the park! This is probably my favourite comedian written book yet (although Whitney's book is also FANTASTIC so if you like this one, grab hers too). I felt like I was hanging with Amy and just learning all about her, almost as if she was a new friend. Learning that she's also an introvert who puts on a show for her work felt relatable, since we aren't all what we show the world. Sometimes, the person we are by ourselves is hidden to the outside world... Yeah, that's deep and all, but still... Amy felt relatable. She's funny, she's smart, and she's got strong opinions (which she gladly shares in this book and I am happy she did). Her life has been a roller coaster, which I can appreciate. Yet she's still trying her best to follow her dreams. This book wasn't an autobiography, it was more of a peek inside the brain of Amy Schumer. It's also not one of the self help books. There are tidbits of guidance and recommendations, but that's not the goal of this book. This book is fun, friendly, and just a nice hideaway from the outside world. Fantastic read! I highly recommend! Four out of five stars. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
