Billy Shivers, a shy and introverted book lover, stumbles upon a haunted book store. He and the owner, Mr. Rapscillion, become friends and work together to create an event that will encourage children to get off their phones and pick up a book. I would not read this book in my class because of the length and I do not think it falls under concepts in the core curriculum. However, I really enjoyed this book, it will be in my library, and I will suggest it to students who enjoy mystery books. I may read the first chapter class around Halloween time, but not finish it. I will emphasize that there is a big surprise revealed at the end of the book, but they will have to read it find out. ( )
