When I’m yelling at the person in the book as if they could hear me, “No, don’t do that”, or “Don’t go in there”, or “Oh no he’s not the guy, your making the real guy get away”. Until Death did gave me the suspense and the mystery I expected. It had me on the figurative edge of my seat with anxiousness and guessing at the twist and turns. That’s what I expect when I read books like these and I got just that. The characters in this story have a lot of past issues with each other and I got to see all of that play out. At first it seemed like it was just about a bad break up between Ivy and Bennett, but as the story unravels, I was surprised that it was so much more than that. There was a lot history, secrets and lies going on between these folks. When all the truth was revealed, at least that’s what I thought, but there was more, the story started to heat up and drew me in even more. At one point I was worried where the story was going when suspicion was put on a few different people I couldn’t see as guilty and it seemed more personal than proof of guilt. And as it turns out I didn’t have all the back story yet to see why either person would be suspected. I didn’t like that Bennett was so judgmental of Ivy, I didn’t believe she came across as the person he saw in his head. And I wondered how could he still be interested in her if he saw her the way he did. He made me kinda angry at him for a while there, I wanted to just smack him. I liked Ivy’s go get ’em attitude and her kick-assness. She was a great match for Bennett’s manly over protectiveness and dismissive attitude about what she is capable of. I really enjoyed Until Death, I thought it had a great story and really interesting characters. Even though it was a quick read, I think it gave really good creep factor, especially being in the head of the killer, and boy was the end of this a shocker. All that twist and turn threw me for a loop and I didn’t see that outcome. I can see now that I need to read more Cynthia Eden. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
