Teddy is this kid that has overcame a hard challenge because he has not seen his dad because he left him and his mom. Last spring teddy has been working and earned a spot on the Walton team and even made it to the little league world series. His mom then drops a bomb on him that his dad is coming back to live with them after leaving.Teddy if furious and does not like his dad because he left his mom and him. Teddy's father was a former player on the Walton football team and he is excited that teddy has made it on the team. Teddy wonders if he only cares about teddy because he is putting on a helmet or does he really want to spend time with him. His father is now the assistant coach and teddy does not like that because he didn't want his dad to be apart of his game so he can concentrate.

I really like this book because teddy is brave and strong because he is overcoming the fact that his dad has came back. Teddy's friends are trying to help him with the situation and i like that because they stay together. The book gives a lot of detail on how teddy likes to play football and how he likes it even more because his friends are with him. Teddy is a tightened and that is what surprises me because he can make the a switch from a tight end to a quarterback and that takes skill. Teddy is a quarterback and is really good at it because he practices with his friends and makes them run plays so he can improve. The Book gives description of how teddy reacts to his dad coming back and how he doesn't like it. The book describes on how teddy likes to play football and how he is motivated by his idol Odell Beckham. ( )

Teddy, a young football player, learns that sometimes bridging the distance in your family can be harder than stretching for an extra yard on the field in the second book of the Home Team series from New York Times bestselling author and sportswriting legend Mike Lupica.

Last spring Teddy’s life changed for the better. He started working out, shaping up and even earned a spot on the Walton baseball team, and with the team he went all the way to the Little League World Series. But the best things to come out of that season were his friendships with Jack, Cassie and Gus, and the confidence to finally try out for the sport he really loves --- football. So when eighth grade begins, Teddy couldn’t be more psyched.

Until his mom drops a bomb: his father --- who left them a long time ago --- is back in Walton and back in their lives. And Teddy isn’t happy about it. As a former star football player at the school, Teddy’s dad is thrilled to find out his son is going out for the team, but Teddy begins to wonder if his father only cares about him now because he’s putting on the helmet. Can Teddy find a way to go the extra yard for the team and for himself, or is the distance between him and his father too much to overcome?
