Told in three separate stories, this book teaches young readers the days of the week, the months of the year, the four seasons, and the basic colors. This book is an easy read, and it would be great in a read-along situation. The stories are told through the activities of a young girl, a cat, and the activities of people in and around a lighthouse. The illustrations are quite striking, and are done in watercolor and gouache paints. I enjoyed One Lighthouse, One Moon by Anita Lobel. This book teaches children about colors, seasons, and counting all in one book. The book is separated into three stories. All of the stories are very simple. Each page as only one short sentence on it. "Blue shoes on Wednesday." and "In July Nini napped under a flag." and "Four girls dancing on the shore." Each sentence has a picture that matches. While this book is simple and repeats a lot the book is still very engaging and fun. One Lighthouse, One Moon is a very sweet and simple book for young, new readers. Made up of three different stories, this picture book allows students the opportunity to learn about multiple things. The first story includes opportunities for the students to explore different colors and associate them with the days of the week. The second story follows the life of a cat throughout the different months and seasons of one calendar year. The final story gives students a chance to learn about counting multiple objects. I thought that this book has a simplistic and cute way of teaching kids their basic counting skills, days of the weeks, months, and colors. It also helps them better memorize these important stepping stones in their lives. The illustration provides a beautiful depiction of the colors, the cat, and the objects to count. There isn't just one message of the story but multiple as it provides a learning opportunity for young readers. Overall I think the simplicity of this book allows young readers to ease themselves into new learning experiences. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
