( ) It's not often when archaeologists are able to gather enough information about individuals in a culture to find their full narrative and share it with people in much later cultures. That has happened here. Ancient lives gives a window in the families inhabiting a small village near Thebes. Populated with men involved in the building of tombs in the city and watching the slow decline of the importance of a city dedicated to Amun. If you think people back in the "good old days" were inherently nicer/better/more aware than we are now, this book will dash any hopes of that. But that is a good thing. This is how life REALLY was, and despite all the differences, the similarities remind the reader of how much connection we all have as people. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
