This Rabbit's Tail's a fairytale told from Korean culture. The tiger in the forest thought he was the most fiercest animal in the area until he had to find food in an unknown village. While attempting to steal an ox for dinner, a mother was telling her crying newborn about how ferocious the tiger is and they have to be quiet before he comes. The tiger heard this from the outside and begin to boast but the baby continued to cry louder and that made the tiger very upset. When the mom fed the baby some persimmon he stopped crying and the tiger became very afraid of what the persimmon could do. Not know what it actually was, the tiger tried to quickly eat the ox before the made up beast (Persimmon) came to eat him. In the process of stealing the ox, there was a thief attempting to steal the ox as well. The thief grabbed the tiger in the dark shed thinking it was an ox while the tiger thought the persimmon had come to get him. As they rode into the forest the thief realized it was a tiger and tried to hop off. The tiger was also trying to get away from the thief. They were both running from each other. Eventually they shook loose and while the tiger was excited, a rabbit came out to see what had happened. After hearing the story the rabbit went out to find the beast that the tiger so afraid of. When the rabbit found the thief hiding in the tree he called the tiger to show that it wasn't so bad but the thief tied a string to the end of the rabbits tale. The tiger took off as the rabbit shook loose losing his tail to the string. It is said in the Korean culture that rabbits don't have tails because of this. This fairytale showed fear and courage. ( )
