I have mixed feelings about this book after reading it. I liked the book because of its illustrations and how the story is about a baby. What I did not like was the language of the author. The language of the story was a bit confusing and through out the whole story I was confused. I understood the story only because the illustrations helped me and I would change some words into other words. The language was not your everyday English even though this book was written in English, but I am thinking maybe the author is from the country side because there were words like "ya'll," 'ol," "ma," pa." So as you can see the language was different than you normally see in stories. This is why I was confused reading the story. Overall, the illustrations were very bright which enhanced the story and was appropriate to the mood of the story. The illustration of the cover is what actually got me to read the book and see what the story was about. I would still use this book to have in my classroom library because the story is still beautiful and I think many children will still like it. ( )
