Abandoned by her young mother, unsure of her father's identity, and raised by her prominent aunt and uncle near Boston, thirty-year-old Fiona Range has developed a high threshold for emotional pain. Her recklessness, generosity, and poor judgment have landed her in more scrapes than her affluent family-or small-town community-can tolerate. Beautiful, volatile and smart-tongued (or trashy, erratic, and wild, depending on whom you ask), Fiona hits rock bottom after she ends a party with a strange man in her bed. Alienated from relatives and friends but determined to change, Fiona turns to the men in her life-among them, cruel and unstable Patrick Grady, who denies she is his daughter. The arrival home of her gentle cousin Elizabeth with fiance in tow sparks a storm where past mistakes and current passions collide.… (altro)

This is a book that is a waste of time. I hated Fiona. She was a BRAT, BITCH, SLUT, STUPID and KNOW-IT-ALL. The book has a lot of awkward conversations and stupid characters. Sometimes I can't even understand what's going on. I feel like I'm going stupid. The plot was linear and full of temper tantrums by the always angry Fiona. She needs to go to Anger Management classes. Don't ever read this! ( )

Fiona was outspoken, 30 yrs old and never married. Her mother abandoned her (was really killed by Patrick Grady. He was her faather He e wouldn't accept her, but really fell in love with her. He was a Vietnam war vet and wascruel and unstable. Her Aunt Arlene & Uncle Charles Hollis feared for her safety and raised her. She would listen to no one. She screwed everyone's husbands and lovers. Actualy, they took advantage of her and she relented each time. At the end, the Uncle was really her father, he killed Patrick, ended up bed ridden and her sister married George, whom all through the book she loved, but could not admit it. Her fiance' was a Dr and ended up marrying Fiona. Great! ( )
