The short story on its own was OK but the additional vignettes included with this standalone edition really bumped up the enjoyment factor. ( )

I originally read Derek and Justin's story as part of the Night Shift anthology. I really love the 'twist' Kindle Alexander gave the reader in the novella. As I re-read the story, enough time lapse I had forgotten it. So again delighted by the unfolding of their story.

I loved how you felt the connection between Derek and Justin. Obviously by their words and actions, there isn't a single sacrifice that one won't do for the other. In this version, Ms. Alexander gives you more of their HEA: How they met, how they meshed, and how we get to say "Awe"*swoon* at the lengths they love each other. However, my favorite character, Aunt Vera, hands down. When she pops up, you just know witty dialogue is to follow. Although I loved the story, I kept wishing for more, but don't we all when we love the characters? I would have liked to hear more about their struggles especially around deployment. However, you never know may get that future wish.

If you love stories with guaranteed sweet HEA, Kindle Alexander will not disappoint. She writes with feeling that wraps you like a warm hug. ( )

Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander is about a gay couple. One is out and the other can't seem to take that step. There's a bit of mystery and cat & mouse play involved. Also it contains sweeness and longing. I really got a kick out of the eccentric aunt and the overly friendly nurses. It seemed like a lovely work environment. And of course the hook up scene was hot (speaking of closets), and the characters were sweet (in true Kindle fashion). ( )

So I gotta be honest. I'm not sure what I think about this at all. Yes it's hot. Yes it's romantic and sweet and I loved our MCs but this book was frustrating.

Closet Confession"...the original short is phew...pretty awesome. A little slow to start but some great closet hotness. It consumes maybe the first half of this book. When it ended I was left wanting more. And what??? Yes!! There was more!!!

So we then get their first night together which if the book had stopped after this scene I would have given this 4.5 stars. This scene was awesome!! Now that's not to say the next 4-5 snippets from their life were not great, they were but the flow of the whole book was off. We missed A LOT of their relationship, their character development. It was just missing that special something for me.

It ends so sweet and lovely but I just felt cheated. This could very easily have been a full length book.

Oh well. It's worth the read regardless. " ( )
