How we all make a difference in the world, as celebrated by the beloved, bestselling Nancy Tillman. You're here for a reason. If you think you're not I would just say that perhaps you forgot... a piece of the world that is precious and dear would surely be missing if you weren't here. If not for your smile and your laugh and your heart this place we call home would be minus a part. Thank goodness you're here! Thank goodness times two! I just can't imagine a world without you. Not only are we loved, but we also matter. Once again, Nancy Tillman takes a universal truth and makes it accessible for readers young and old, as children and animals interact with acts of kindness… (altro)

A beautiful book gifted to my daughter on her first birthday by her Tia. The pictures are somewhat realistic, not very cartoonish at all. The message is very sweet, and this is a book that your child will enjoy at any age or stage of their life. ( )

It is about Nancy talking about how we are all here for a reason. She shows readers how each of us fits into life's big picture, and how the world would be incomplete without us in it. Nancy addresses how we are all important and matter to this earth.

A story I hope to share with each of my future classes. After reading, I would ask my class what a nice gesture they could do for their community. ( )

After reading this book, I liked it so much I went out and bought it. It is set in a poem form, with the lines rhyming on each page. The overall message is just what the title says "You're Here For a Reason." No matter what type of day you're having, good or bad, you mean something to someone and you may not even know it. I loved this book mainly for the message. As an adult, I feel that even adults should read this book. Life can be frustrating and sad, but this book reminds you that it'll all be okay. My favorite line was "Remember that next time a day goes all wrong..to somebody else, you will always be strong." Throughout this book are sentences similar to that, which could really cheer some children up. I feel that children of all ages should be read this book, or read it themselves. It encourages readers to hold on to their hope and be kind to others. By saying that everything happens for a reason, this book would also push kids to thing "did my actin affect someone else?" In the beginning it states "A kindness, for instance, may triple for days… or set things in motion in different ways." This line made me think, my actions might affect someone, whether it's good or bad.
The pictures look like they were real. The elephant had wrinkles that looked like the author just took a picture. The pictures were calming, with the character smiling and the animals interacting. This book is great for children to help them look at the world as "one," because everyone animal is interacting with her and each other so nicely. ( )
