This is a companion book to the Splintered series of the in-between novellas. I don't understand why, but they were not printed in the order that they should be read. You should read them as The Moth in the Mirror, The Boy in the Web and then Six Impossible things...and DO NOT read The Boy in the Web or Six Impossible Things until you have finished Ensnared, as they give away some things that happen in the last book. I will review them below in the order they are printed in the book.

The Boy in the Web is about Alyssa's mother's memories when she was in Wonderland, and it would make sense that you could read this story after Unhinged, but the beginning tells you things that you shouldn't know until after Ensnared, so wait to read this one. I honestly just read it before I started Ensnared about a week ago, and I don't really remember much of it.

The Moth in the Mirror is about Morpheus going to the memory train and looking at Jeb's memories of his time in Wonderland. You can read this one after Splintered with no issues. If you've read the first book in the series, then you basically know what he's going to see, although this time it's from Jeb's perspective instead of Alyssa's.

Six Impossible Things is the longest of the three novellas and is mostly about her life with Jeb after Ensnared and her life with Morpheus as Queen. This one is definitely a read-after-Ensnared story.

I wasn't a huge fan of this book and just kind of made my way through it because I read the rest of the series, but I could have done without it. If you're one of those people who likes to read all the novellas and spin-offs (the 1.5s, 2.5s, etc.) then you should read this. If you got enough story with the original three books, then you can probably pass on this one. It was okay, but I wasn't overwhelmed and wasn't as into opening it as I was the rest of the books.

All in all, if you like the series, read it. ( )

While the Splintered series is told from Alyssa’s point of view, Untamed gives readers a chance to see how some of the secondary characters felt about Wonderland. A. G. Howard will take readers on three separate adventures. The first visiting memories of Alyssa’s parents. The second Morpheus dives into Jeb’s memories. And the third is Alyssa’s journey after the series conclusion when her reign as Queen begins.

Much of the story for Alyssa’s parents are summarized rather than shown as the main series progresses. But all that changes with the first short story in Untamed. You’ll learn how her mother and father discovered Wonderland and the fateful day they met. All the pieces of their story come together on the page as the whole picture is finally formed.

And while the first story provides a prequel, the second takes place during the main storyline of the series. Readers will have the chance to view Wonderland from Jeb’s point of view. Morpheus is determined to find out why Alyssa is attracted to Jeb. His thirst for knowledge leads him to Jeb’s memories where he will witness Jeb’s dedication to Alyssa. Each of Jeb’s memories reinforces his love for Alyssa.

And lastly, the third story tells of Alyssa’s future in Wonderland when her human life has come to an end. The future Morpheus has dangled in front of Alyssa since book two is brought to life. Alyssa shows how she has grown through the years and proves her worth as the Red Queen, bringing the series to a satisfying end.

Each short story is a snippet that helps build upon the characters readers have come to know and gives them a proper send-off. Untamed is the perfect wrap-up for the Splintered series. And while it isn’t filled with macabre horror or magical mayhem, the overall atmosphere A. G. Howard has created carries on till the end. ( )

This is a three part collection of short stories. It mostly takes place after the 3rd book. The first part gives a better insight into both Allison's childhood and Thomas's. The second part is seeing some of the things from the first book in Jeb's point of view. Which truely shows Jeb's love and devotion to Alyssa. Finally, the third part is a bunch of short stories ranging from the end of the third book to the birth of her and Morpheus's son. It hops around but it has it reasons.

This book gives insight and closure to the splintered series. I loved all of it really. It makes me sad because this truely is the end of the series. I know that this will definitely be on my list of rereads eventually, but for now it is goodbye. After reading the third book of the series I had felt not as satisfied as I would have liked. I still feel that allowing her to have both was a bit of a lazy way to end the love triangle, but this book did help me come to terms with it lol. I think that anyone who loved the Splintered series, should read this book. Its a great way to wrap it all up.

2** Didn't really like it. Didn't hate it but not sure why I finished it other then for some closure.
3*** I liked it. I had some issues with it, but as a whole it was good. I probably won't reread again ever, but there is a chance I might finish the series. (If part of one) But if not it's not a huge loss.
4**** I really liked this book. Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this again, and I will finish the series. (If part of one) I would recommend to those I know hold interest in this books content.

Now that I've seen how Morpheus has grown to appreciate Alyssa's human side, I like him a lot more than I used to. Which I'm happy about, because disliking Morpheus makes it very difficult to enjoy this series.

But there's still one thing I don't like about this series--the arrangement between Alyssa, Jeb, and Morpheus. I feel like Jeb's getting the shorter end of the bargain, since not only is his time with Alyssa limited, she also goes Wonderland with Morpheus every night. But when she's with Morpheus, she spends eternity in Wonderland and never travels to the human world again. I understand that this love triangle was a tricky situation, with Alyssa's double-sided heart and everything, but...this bargain doesn't seem right to me. And that fact reduced my enjoyment of this book very much.

This series has haunted me a lot, especially during the times I really disliked Morpheus (when I was reading Unhinged and Ensnared. He kept popping up in my thoughts, even when I was definitely not supposed to be thinking about books. In fact, he appeared in my dreams restless visions while sleeping...and not in a good way. It's honestly a relief to have gotten closure with this book, and I'm glad that I now like Morpheus (which means he won't haunt me anymore). ( )

I won a first edition hardcover of Untamed by A G Howard some time ago and all I can say is…WOW…why did I wait so long to read this Alice in Wonderland remake that is so creatively, wondrously written, with a fantasy world anyone would want to get lost in and meet the fabulous characters, both human and fantsy, that will make this impossible to put down. ( )
