The story took off running right from where Kage ended. Kage has made it to the pros but is paying a heavy price mentally with his manipulative Uncle. Jamie is back in school where he is incommunicado with Kage and hears only what the new publicist is churning out. My angst meter nearly broke toward the end though. ( )

This author is such a cocktease; the first book ending with a cliffhanger, the second being so damn short and having, you guessed it, yet another cliffie. I won't ever learn not to get so into a series that's not finished... But I just can't regret it this time!
I honestly hadn't expected something so good when I read the blurb. I just thought, alright, show me what you did with that idea. And I was not disappointed. I got so much more. Both books found and pushed all my buttons just right. The levels of hotness, chemistry and possessiveness hit the ceiling; the added factors of danger, mental instability, and smashing people's faces in made it so much harder to put down. I just can't get enough of Kage, and revealing his darker side and that certain helplessness just made it worse. I officially have a major crush. On the series of course.
Maris Black's writing was really good, considering that I'm not a big fan of 1st person POV. It was unobtrusive and not at all distractive, easy to get into. It really seemed like our boys were narrating the story.
One word: amazing. If you hadn't read it yet, get your ass in gear. I'm waiting for the final book and rereading the fuck out of them when i have them all. ( )

This book picks up where book 1 left off. It wound me up inside their relationship just as much. The scene where they were all over each other in the store—that's how I feel about this series. I just can't get enough. I do not like the therapist and uncle! Grrr! And that ending! Whoa! ( )
