We all dream about retiring in Florida when we finally get to say good bye to the dreaded nine to five life, find some sunny small town to call home. Welcome to Sweet Home Florida it is somewhat like the Cheers Bar (an 80’s TV show); everyone knows your name and your business. This is also one of the things that make Creamed at the Coffee Cabana by Constance Barker a fun read. I enjoyed the setting of this story not just the Coffee Cabana but the small town and the people in it. The main characters of this series are the retired sixty somethings and they are nowhere near ready to hang it up. Sweet Home is their playground and with any playground you have the usual characters. Speaking of character you will love how they have decorated their transportation. They don’t get around on bikes but golf carts that give a bit of their character away. I think this story sets up the series fairly well. There are two more stories so far in this series, A Caffeinated Crunch and A Frothy Fiasco. I do wish we could have had a bit more information about the characters; it would have been nice to know more about them. There was mention of a couple others that leave us wondering where they are or what happen to them. I have to admit I am a little bummed Fannie fell victim to her wicked ways, she will be missed. But when one bully leaves the playground another appears. I guess we will just have to check out the rest of this series to find out who takes her place as bully and or victim. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

This was your average mystery book, the "twist" was really surprising because there wasn't really any foreshadowing to lead you to think that that might be the killer. I'm only just getting into this genre but I don't think that's supposed to happen. T second book in this kindle edition was the first book to another of the authors series and it ended the same a super surprise killer that was never foreshadowed or anything. I feel like usually in these books once the killer is discovered you look back and are like oh ya that makes sense. Neither of these had that feeling. ( )
