I'm really not sure this is a strong 3 but I certainly liked the book so it didnt deserve a 2. I started this series afer my current fix of Stephanie Plum and I love those books (but they only get a 3 too because cmon they arent literary gold). I'm not convinced these books are as great as SP but this one kept me interested enough I jumped right into the second one. I'm okay without the obligitory sex scene at the end of the book, sometimes less is more I didn't need quite so many details. I'm pressing forward because I'm really wanting to see Sinclair develop more of a personality than tall, dark, handsome, and brooding. I'm hoping he becomes a little more well rounded and loveable. Perhaps Betsy will not be SO self indulgent and get some more meat to her character. ( )

This book is a funnt vampire book so skip it if you're looking for a serious book. Wise cracking Betsy Taylor is mugged and bitten and left for dead. A month later she is hit by a car and killed and wakes in her coffin at the mortuary not knowing what happened. Betsy is always pissed at something and right now it's that she isn't dead. She is a vampire but none of the usual anti-vamp things bother her. She can walk in the sunlight, wear crosses, holy water has no effect and she only needs to feed ocasionally. The vampire chronicles foretell of the coming of the Queen of the Vampires. Besry turns out to be the Queen. Her consort is the hunky Eric Sinclair who Betsy has the hots for and despises at the same time. It was a slapstick look at vampires and there is a series of books this being the first but I think I'll stop here. ( )
