Gimbel is a wonderful guide to a whole breadth of science in this course, from physics to psychology to sociology to artificial intelligence. The physics parts are the best, of course, but there is a unifying theme throughout the course--the study of something starts with studying an isolated thing, one atom, one human being as if the explanations were all there, but soon has to move to understanding the relationships between things, and then--beyond that! This is the kind of course the teaching company does so well, and Gimbel does a great job here. You don't have to be a science geek to enjoy and learn from this. Highly recommended. ( ) This is an amazing journey through time and the changes of our perceptions of reality. From ancient Greece to today. Dr. Gimbel covers about every subject imaginable, from science to sociology. He presents the material in a way that you don't have to have a degree in physics to understand. Highly recommended! The book covers up almost every branch of modern day science starting with physics ,dwelling into quantum physics , cosmology , psychology , anthropology , bioethics ....just a plethora of subjects in the 38 chapters . The book is no way intended to give an in-dept understanding but rather keys factors in humanity which prompted the birth of a new branch of study and how it affects the existing paradigm by shattering and re-constructing reality only to challenge the existing status quo as man gains an ever deeper awareness of his environment , his beginnings and where it leads next . nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
