Drippy and Sticky, the housepainters, are painting the fire station…more like making a mess! They accidentally get paint all over the fire trucks, which sticks to the spilled wet cement and hay at a car accident. After putting out a fire, the fire engines get a bath, only to get sticky once again when a strawberry jam truck gets hit. There is messy good fun on every page, as well as the world’s biggest pizza lunch. Children will laugh at the silly situations and enjoy the detailed illustrations.

A day at the fire station is not all that you would think. The firefighters spend their day doing tasks like cleaning up, and painting. After making a paint mess they are called to help with a traffic accident. After that disaster they are called to help with a fire at a pizza parlor. Last but not least Tam's Jam truck spills everywhere! The firefighters are cleaning up messes all day. ( )

Being a Richard Scarry book, there is very little firefighting going on with this fire crew. But as usual, the fire piggies (as they are called in this household) manage to involve themselves in another adventures to keep young readers and listeners happy.

As with all Scarry books, keep an eye out for the detail in the illustrations, with little bugs and other creatures popping up all over the place. ( )
