Unlike the Gottfredson run on Mickey Mouse, Taliaferro's Donald Duck dailies, beginning in 1938, are gag-a-day rather than narrative or adventure strips. The drawing is excellent and the gags, frequently relying on pantomime and using minimal text, are quite funny. This is where the nephews were introduced and Donald developed a bit more personality. The lack of ongoing narrative makes them less appealing to me, however, and I don't think I'll collect the series as I do with other vintage strips from IDW/Fantagraphics. Barks/Rosa fans looking for more developed characters and adventures may be disappointed. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
