"Friends shape who we are. They make us laugh. They fill us with fun. They stand by us during life's up and downs. And even when we disagree with our friends, if they're tried-and-true, they don't stay bent out of shape for long. That's the beauty of a good buddy. This joyous book rejoices in the simple beauties of friendship, and reminds readers of all ages that it's good to have a group of pals."--Amazon.com.… (altro)

A square, triangle, rectangle, and circle use this story to talk about why friendship is a wonderful thing to have. Friends can make their friends feel happy or feel at home, know how to make things fun, play fair, sometimes think the same thing at the same time, and forgive when they fight. No matter what happens in life, friends can always be there to provide support.

While there is no real plot, this book uses shapes to show how having friends can make a big difference in life. The shapes are used to create humor and word play, allowing kids and adults to add to the book in their own minds as they read the original message. The shapes mostly add opportunities for word play and would not necessarily be a good resource for teaching kids about shapes. This book is a unique, fun way to think about friendship. ( )

This wasn't my favorite book because I prefer stories with plots but I did enjoy it somewhat. I think it would be a great book for younger children because of the short and simple pages of words and pictures. It sends a good message to the reader about friendship and the ups and downs that go along with it. It is however cleverly written and it kept me entertained throughout. I think it would be helpful for children who are still developing their social skills and learning about them in a fun context would work well. ( )

I enjoyed reading this book for a few reasons. The language was easy for comprehend for very young readers and each page was short and sweet. Some books like to drag on the pages, but this was straight to the point. Another reason I liked this book was because the characters were age appropriate and it also gave pictures and names of what certain shapes look like and are called. The characters said sweet and funny things. It explained what friends are for, "Friends stick together for all of life's ups....and downs." The message of the story was to describe who friends are and what they do for others. It was emphasizing that friends are special and you should know how important they are. ( )

In my opinion this is a great book. The illustrations really enhanced the story and made the book fun. I like the use of the shapes as characters, I feel that it reached the children’ level. The book pushes readers to think about important people in their lives and the benefit that friendship bring. For example, it said “Friends are always there for you to lean on” and has two shoes leaning on another saying “thanks again for our support.” This shows that you can turn to a friend in need of support. The big idea of the story is to show the importance of friendships and how we can benefit from each other in good times and bad .The book reached this important message while adding humor.
