This story is about a mouse, and a cat who leave their families to run off and play in the rain. They run into a frog who convinces them to stay and play in the rain. They have such a good time, they run back and tell their families. The cat, mouse, frog, and all of their families go out and enjoy the rain.
This book is about modern fantasy. The over-all theme is how our peers can help us overcome fears. The illustrastions are bright and colorful. If you have students who are afraid of rain, or anything this book could help them overcome their fears.
A great activity for overcoming fear is writing down ones fears, telling others, and doing a trust fall. Another great activity would be to send home a bear and book and have the child write down in the book what the bear and child did throughout the day.
